Hi all,

The Sunny Valley Preserve (in New Milford, CT), a project of the Nature Conservancy, has received USDA Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program (WHIP) funds to create a butterfly meadow. The meadow will be approximately six acres.
The preserve director, Margaret McCauley, would like to get some people who are willing to survey the butterfly inhabitants of this area this summer in order to develop baseline data for future comparisons.

There will be a total of eight counts over the summer (approx. 1/month) beginning in April (28or29) and ending in October. A volunteer would not have to be at each count date.
I hope some of you butterfly watchers out there will be willing to help out with this exciting project.

If you are willing to help out, please contact me at andrew.brand at snet.net or call me at home at 203-230-1718.

The tentative count dates are: April 28 or 29, May 26 or 27, June 23 or 24, July 14 or 15, July 28 or 29, Aug. 25 or 26, Sept. 29 or 30, and Oct. 27 or 28.

Thank you,

Andy brand
