Today for three hours sunshine brought out lots of leps.
Monarch-year's first
Besides large numbers of butterflies today there were many day flying
flower moths.
Since JH opened this door already on this site I'll post my day moth
year firsts too.
Snowberry clearwing (Hemaris gracilis)-nectering on Dames Rocket
Yellow-colared scapemoth (Cisseps fulvicollis)
Eight-spotted forester (Alypia octomaculata)- 2 in my garden-beautiful!
Anania funebris glomeralis-can't find a common name for this pyralid
moth but it looks and acts like a smaller version of the eight-spotted
forester except the spots are all the same color and it lacks the yellow
tegulae and the bright orange furry legs of the forester.
