Guilford Butterflies

On Saturday, 8/16, I visited Jared Elliot Preserve in coastal Guilford where 
I found 13 species of butterflies.  The list for the day was as follows:

Black Swallowtail (1)
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (1)
Spicebush Swallowtail (3)
Cabbage White (5)
Orange Sulphur (1)
Eastern Tailed Blue (1)
Pearl Crescent (3)
Painted Lady (1)
Red-spotted Purple (1)
Monarch (1)
Silver-spotted Skipper (3)
Peck's Skipper (2)
Broad-winged Skipper (8) (A very low number)

I visited nearby Chaffinch Is. Park where the American Snout is still present 
and had Clouded Sulphur and Tawny-edged Skippers at other sites in Guilford, 
bringing the list for the day up to 16 species.
