Hammonasset Monarchs

My daughter and I tagged 3 monarchs in 1 1/2 hours this afternoon at Hammonasset. However, due to excitement and lack of net experience, I also lost two. They flew away and didn't return. My daughter is great at netting, so from now on she will be handling that job while I tag and record.
It was a beautiful day with a warm breeze. After 4:00 the breeze died down and the mosquitos were terrible.

I felt sad sitting in the butterfly garden with so few monarchs. I hope and pray for good weather in Mexico this winter.
The Hartford Courant article was a great surprise this morning. For those that missed it, you can see it at : www.ctnow.com or
