As per Lenny's posting, the Wild Indigo Duskywing is a new LATE DATE
(the old was 10-1-2005). The sighting for Sachem is also a new LATE
DATE. The old one was 10-5-2002 at Hammonassett State Park.

On Saturday, 10/6, I decided to take advantage of the warm sunny
weather and visited the park in the afternoon.  The list for the day is
as follows:

Pipevine Swallowtail (2) (Both individuals flew west across the park
towards the harbor without stopping.  These sightings, together with
the reports earlier this week from Harkness Park and Niantic, suggest
that this species is migrating along the coast in numbers.)

Black Swallowtail (1) (male)

Cabbage White (5)

Clouded Sulphur (16)

Orange Sulphur (18)

Cloudless Sulphur (2+) (at least 1 female)

Eastern Tailed Blue (1)

American Lady (3)

Common Buckeye (4)

Monarch (310) (Because of the unfavorable southwest wind, Monarchs were
roosting in numbers)

Wild Indigo Duskywing (1) (probably a record late date for the species
in the state)

Fiery Skipper (6) (5 males, 1 female)

Sachem (1) (male. This individual was found by Jay Kaplan and is
probably a record late date for the species in the state)
