Thanks, Diane.
My wife was selling jewelery at a Colchester fair today. Last night I was trying to figure out what I could do in that area during the day so I could stop by at the end of the day and help her take her displays down. That's when I saw your post about the Airline Trail in Colchester - kismet. I'd been meaning to check that area out, having enjoyed Stan Malcolm's Airline Trail webpage for some time - http://www.performance-vision.com/airline/.
Anyway, love this place! There are some nice meadows off the main trail, and a great one by the bridge over Salmon River. It was overcast most of the day - meadows wet from last night's rain - so I think this area has more potential.
Butterflies, 6/14 Airline Trail, Colchester :
Great Spangled Fritillarys
Red-spotted Purple
Common Ringlets
Cabbage White
Little Wood Satyrs
Pearl Crescents
Eastern-tailed Blue
Silver-spotted Skipper
Hobomoks
Long Dash
Cobweb Skippers (brought a smile to me face)
Indian Skippers (ditto)
Euro Disneys (very common)
Least Skippers (not nearly as)
Spring Moths and Yellow-collared Scape Moths were good to see, as well as the Orchard Orioles and Yellow-billed Cuckoos.
