As I pulled into my driveway around 2 this afternoon, just home from the
CBA trip to Bauer Park, I saw an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail landing from branch
to branch on my rangey Forsythia. Sure enough, she was laying eggs. I
collected one as evidence although she layed several more that I could not locate.
She was large and very fresh and was promptly persued by a male. Perhaps
she had not yet mated and she was dumping unfertilized eggs? I will see if the
one I found hatches and id she returns.
Any input?
