I spent the day, yesterday, hawk watching at Lighthouse Point. Some
butterflies that attempted to be noticed at the watch were a Variegated
Fritillary and a Common Buckeye that landed, and a Black Swallowtail that
had no qualms about flying right through a group of us hawk watchers. Some
Monarchs were on the move and the three common Pierids were around. Another
Black Swallowtail and a Fiery Skipper were among the unimpressive butterfly
representation in the garden. More interesting in and around the garden was
a remarkably showy and cooperative Black-billed Cuckoo. For those that are
interested, I've posted a picture of it sitting on the ground inside the
butterfly garden at https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__stevewalternature.com_&d=CwICAg&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=wPbNkt6T_H4X7m_PlvSFCGU2a9-csNvfRK2IVMi-mp0&m=xXQ1vWIV4WF8ae6iwFx0H4L7eVfCOmrqh-xhs-xPFDs&s=08YQw3NVNLLGMBE_JkPnVOsK0DfyyPQl4AutoSesjWE&e= .
