Below a Consumer Health Information announcement from the Library of
the Yale Medical School. Although some of the resources there are
specific to interacting with Yale Health Care Providers, there are
also carefully selected medical information Web sites. 
On brief look I did not see a pointer to such gems as the "Yale
Heart Book" <http://info.med.yale.edu/library/heartbk/>, but this is
still a site well worth bookmarking.  --PJK

The Cushing/Whitney Medical Library announces a new revised and
expanded  Consumer Health information page

The Consumer Health web page provides carefully evaluated and
selected  links to web sites offering consumer health information.
Covering topics  from alternative medicine to women's health, our
new page will assist  patients in finding current and authoritative
health information. The page features the top ten sites for
selected health topics, a web site highlight and consumer health
news direct from Reuters Health.

Local information resources are emphasized to bring attention to
resources available in the Medical Library and available through
the Consumer Health Information Network, a consumer health
information service based at the New Haven Free Public Library. 
The Patient Education page links to information  available for Yale
Health Care Providers, including patient education handouts,
information to evaluate health information on the Internet, and
more.

The Yale Medical Group and the Yale-New Haven Hospital links are 
highlighted to direct patients and their families to the
comprehensive  health care services at the Yale-New Haven Medical
Center.
