[Histling-l] Specialized course offerings in historical linguistics

When I was a postgrad at Manchester, Dr Ricardo Bermudez-Otero
regularly gave lectures on historical linguistics ('Language
Change' for Taught Master's, and a course module called
'Historical Linguistic's' for undergraduates), which were
advertised in course handbooks. Here at York Professor Pino
Longobardi and his colleagues hold a semester-length course on
Comparative-Historical Linguistics for undergraduates, and there are also
courses on the History and Sociolinguistics of English. Also, at Oxford
and Manchester (and I presume at Cambridge), there are regular
Indo-European linguistics courses that survey all the major theories in
traditional comparative-historical linguistics.
