IEFP-International Summer Award Application Deadline!
Noon, Friday, February 16
If you wish to receive ISA funding for a non-Yale summer study abroad 
program, you not only have to apply to the study abroad program 
itself, you also have to complete the ISA registration/application 
forms for IEFP.  See the IEFP pages of the ISA web site for 
application/registration process (and the forms you need to complete) 
as well as for the list of the non-Yale programs for which you may 
receive ISA funding  http://www.yale.edu/isa/; 
http://www.yale.edu/isa/programs_iefp.html. You must submit the 
registration/application forms to IEFP by noon, February 16 in order 
to be eligible for ISA funding to study with non-Yale study abroad programs.


Have questions about the ISA Application Process?
We will be holding special ISA walk-in hours next week:
Monday (1-3pm) and Wednesday (2-4pm)
  And don't forget Susan Coleman's regular walk-in hours on Tuesday 
afternoon (2-4pm), and
Thursday morning (10am-12noon)


Interested in Southeast Asian Studies?  Want to explore the region this summer?
Then consider the 5-week "Southeast Asia in Context" summer study 
abroad program through
the National University of Singapore (NUS)

This summer, ten Yale students, along with 10 University of 
Copenhagen students and 20 NUS students, will have the opportunity to 
partake in this unique program.

When:     7/1/07-8/3/07
Where: National University of Singapore w/ field trips to three other 
Southeast Asian countries
Who:      Students from Yale, NUS and Univ of Copenhagen
What:     Classes offered include: Southeast Asian Studies in 
Context, History of Southeast Asia, and Southeast Asia's Cultural Mosaic

Pembroke College, Cambridge University

Gideon Malone, Associate Director (U.S.) of International Programmes 
at Pembroke College, will be on campus to talk to students about the 
Cambridge experience. Pembroke offers full year study abroad, study 
for the two spring Cambridge terms (our spring semester), and a 
summer program in conjunction with King's College, Cambridge 
University. Information about Pembroke's programs can be found at

Scholarship for Study Abroad in Sweden
The Swedish Women's Educational Association International, Inc. 
(SWEA), is a non-profit global organization dedicated to the 
promotion of Swedish culture and the encouragement of friendship and 
personal growth among its members. The SWEA has a scholarship program 
that provides $5000 to one or two well-merited female undergraduate 
or graduate students at a New England Universities who wish to pursue 
studies or a work/study program in Sweden for at least one semester.

application deadline is April 15.

You don't necessarily need to speak Swedish to study abroad in Sweden 
-- The Swedish Program (http://www.swedishprogram.org/) offers a wide 
range of courses taught in English.  Subject offered with The Swedish 
Program include:  politics, women's studies, literature, sociology, 
psychology, economics, public policy, film, and peace 
studies.   (many of the former SWEA scholarship recipients studied 
with this program).
