[Insightl] Accessing folder level groups

Daniel:
We have written .asp scripts (as we're running Insight using MSSQL) that
read IRGroups -> IRGroupImagemap -> IRObjectImageMap and our source
metadata
to recreate Collection level groups from outside of Insight (browser or
client). A faculty member finds the Insight Group # on a dynamic webpage
of all Insight groups - then using a URL we include in our documentation
they can link to a group created in Insight from outside of any Insight
tools.
Why do we do this? Some faculty think it is easier for students to review
materials outside of the classroom from a simple webpage. We do include
selected metadata in the page we generate. Being the page is dynamic -
everything matches.
This only works for groups stored in IRGroups however not the grp
directories - I'm interested
in reading the data contained in what I call the folder-level groups
(group directories) as well. Since Insight reads that data - there must be
a way to do it - but how?
