Hi,

Just saw two 'Beat' Takashi films (VIOLENT COP and BOILING POINT) and was
very impressed with both. Actually, of the two, I found BOILING POINT
to be more impressive. I love the pacing of these films, and how--unlike
American filmmakers--Takashi doesn't really equate violence with action.
I'm curious as to what others in this group think of these two films, and
are there any other 'Beat' Takashi films that surpass these two.

On the other hand, I also saw MUSCLE and was decidely unimpressed. Nice
idea but not developed in a believable way at all. TETSUO II: BODY
HAMMER also left me a bit limp. And even though a storyline was attempted,
I just don't think a sequel was needed.

This weekend I'll be checking out TOKYO DRIFTER, so I'll give my thumb-nail
impressions later. Anyway, VIOLENT COP and BOILING POINT get ***1/2 from
me, while MUSCLE gets **, and TETSUO II **1/2.

Cheers,

Mitch
