Subject: The Best Japanese Films Of The 70s Poll

      Hello!

      I've heard that on Kimema Club recently there have been posts
on the best Japanese films of the 80s
and 90s. Well, many of my favorite Japanese films and their
filmmakers came from the 60s and 70s. The
70s, at least in the West,are often considered a low point in
Japanese cinema, but for me, some of the
most fresh and stunning work came out of Japanese cinema in the 70s.

      Here are my 20 favorites (in no order): In The Realm Of The
Senses (Oshima Nagisa,'76); Vengence Is
Mine (Imamura Shohei,'79); Twisted Path Of Love (Kumashiro Tatsumi,
'73); Edogawa Rampo Theater: The
Stroller In The Attic (Tanaka Noboru,'76); Scandalous Adventures Of
Burikan (Shinoda,'70), Throw Away
Your Books Let's Go Out In The Street! (Terayama Shuji,'71); Lone
Wolf & Cub episodes #1,2,3 and 5
(Misumi Kenji, '72-73); Pastoral Hide-And-Seek (Terayama Shuji,'74);
Death Of Honor (Fukasaku Kinji,'76);
Violent Streets (Gosha Hideo,'74); Hana To Hebi (Konuma Masaru,'74);
August:Wet Sand (Fujita
Toshiya,'71); Third (Higashi Yoishi,'78); House (Obayashi Nobuhiko,
'77); Erotic Sisters (Sone Chusei,'73);
Ah! Flower Cheerleaders (Sone Chusei,'76); Sex Hunter:Wet Target
(Sawada Yukihiro,'72); World Of
Geisha 1 (Kumashiro Tatsumi,'74); Play (Masumura Yasuzo,'70) and My
Sister (Fujita Toshiya,'74).
     Well, those are my favorites from the 1970s. I'd be very
interested to see what others' top 10 or 20 etc.
Japanese films of the 70s are. Please contribute your top 10/20
Japanese favorites from the 1970s!
