self introduction

i have been following the kinejapan postings with much interest.

my name is warren tang. i am a phd student at the university of newcastle,
australia, studying japanese literature. in particular i am writing a
dissertation on kawabata yasunari's tanagokoro no shousetsu
(palm-of-the-hand stories).

my interests include poetry, philosphy, chess, sumo, computer technology
(especially the internet), and of course, cinema.

i hope to contribute to this list as much as i have gained from it (which
is plenty).
