     Just signed up for the ride.
     
     I'm Patrick Crogan from Screen Studies at the Australian Film, 
     Television and Radio School in Sydney.
     My interests in Japanese cinema are personal and professional. I am by 
     no means an expert in Japanese cinema but have some particular 
     interests: Kurosawa, Ozu, anime...
     
     I'm an 'Aikidokist' as well and have an abiding interest in the 
     martial arts.
     
     Anyway, next year I want to run a 2 day course/conference on Kurosawa 
     called 'AK: Action in Question. A prime thematic inspiration for me in 
     designing this course so far has been French philosopher Gilles 
     Deleuze's characterisation of Kurosawa's cinema as a cinema of the 
     question (in The Movement-Image). I've accessed the wonderful kinema 
     club biblio for some texts on Kurosawa. but I thought I'd ask the list 
     if they had any thoughts on Kurosawa in relation to this notion of 
     Deleuze's or in general (I guess I have missed the list's discussion 
     of AK in the wake of his recent passing?...).
