Hi,

I've recently joined this list and thought I better emerge from lurking for
a post.

I'm a graduate of UCSB in Eng. Lit. who recently returned from teaching in
Japan for 2 and a half years. I'm now currently directing my first film
and going bankrupt (hopefully not artistically) in the process.

My Japanese film knowledge is limited to the classics at my local video
store, and the few I saw during my stay in Japan. My tastes favor the 60's
directors such as Teshigahara and Imamura.

Due to fellow lurker Jon Crow, I was able to see the recent "Gonin" and
some older films. LA Times notes Gonin is opening soon here, distributed
by Phaedra. Spring also seems to be the release time for Hanabi, from
Milestone.

My knowledge is still at a student level, and with the intimidating level
of theoretical posts on this list, I'll go back to lurking now.

Thanks.

Ted
