If this is Sugi Gizaburo's manga version from 1985 it's very well done,
faithful to a fault to MK's original 1930's story, with an unusual
attention to depth and an interesting juxtaposition of animal and human
characters.  It has a hypnotic soundtrack and is well worth seeing at a
theater versus in video.
