Since my son was sick with chicken pox during Golden Week, I never
managed to see any of the films in this year's festival. (Though I would
like to hear from people who did.)

Still, some other filmmakers I would recommend checking out include:

Suzuki Shiroyasu, the dean of personal, experimental documentary (Program
A)

Onishi Kenji, the ever controversial (Program C)

Maeda Shinjiro (structural film), Oki Hiroyuki (impossible to describe),
Kawanaka Nobuhiro (film as a nostalgic diary) (Program E)

Ota Yo, Miura Junko (personal documentary), Yamada Isao (Program K)

Utagawa Keiko (personal documentary) (Program L)

For those of you who also missed the IMF, it will be showing later on in
Fukuoka. Also, Image Forum usually runs a rather complete reprise of the
Festival in its Cinematheque about half a year after the Festival.
