Hiroshima and Film

If you are writing on The Effects of the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and
Nagasaki, you need to take a trip to the National Archives in Suitland
Maryland (just outside of DC and accessible via public transportation). The
film is available for viewing on both film and video. The video booths are
set up for duplication. Their catalog is online (search for "NAIL" and
you'll find it). Since you'll definitely want to watch it on film, you'll
want to reserve a flatbed ahead of time because film and makers are always
hogging them to make video copies.

In Japan, the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival has it on
video, and I assume the institutions relating to Peace Movement do, too.
The 10-feet movement has a print, although I can't remember what their
current name is, and I don't know if you'd be granted access.

And just a personal plug: check out my article on the film in Hibakusha Cinema.
