finding things

Markus' posting about finding things reminded me that there's a new bookstore
in Shibuya that has a surprisingly good selection of film books -- it's called
Book First, and is smack on the Bunkamura strip across the street from one of
the now-ubiquitous Starbucks'; the arts section constitutes the floor in the
basement.
Book First is very Shibuya-kei, and/but has a better selection than any of the
big stores like Libros, Junkudo, better than ABC too I think, for new stuff,
and some retro stuff, lots of re-packaged Nouvelle Vague related material,
which recent mini-boom in both film and music strikes a certain je ne sais
quoi in my book anyway...
I was also reminded recently, looking at back issues of PIA, that for people
who are looking for cinema "goods" stores, like posters and things, that PIA
has run a series of spot articles on goods shops over the last few years--
e.g. the Hong Kong movie goods shops, various genre shops-- and they'd be a
good resource for anyone wanting to track down their pet roman poruno poster,
or even just check out that status of the goods market as a part of fan
culture. The articles have maps etc which makes them too very easy to
consume.
