This is a re-advertised position, previous applicants need not apply.
The successful applicant must have experience in teaching film history, 
and
should have a thorough grounding in studio histories (particularly 
American
and/or Asian), film historiography and the social and cultural history of
the cinema. We also welcome applications from film historians working on
other national cinemas, especially European or Australian.
The appointee will undertake teaching and subject coordination (including
teaching within the School's foundation subject) and will be expected to
make a significant contribution to the research programs of the School and
to supervise honours and postgraduate research projects.
Essential criteria:  a relevant PhD or equivalent; experience in tertiary
teaching and evidence of original research; an ability to liaise with 
staff
and students; a proven high level of oral and written communication skills
and an understanding of equity and diversity principles.
Desirable criteria:  an interest in interdisciplinary approaches to the
teaching of film and the performing arts.
The salary range is $48,678 - $57,806 per year depending on qualifications
and experience.  In exceptional circumstances, an appointment may be made
at the level of Senior Lecturer.
Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition 
of
employment.
