Dear Salted Cat,
Neither of his films have opened in Japan. But, in a sort of double
release, Japanese audiences this autumn will also be getting SHIOTA's
(Akihiko--with a K, so not the same as the current national father figure)
second feature film, Don't Look Back (Doko made mo iko) which portrays
children's budding iterests in the adult world, sometimes perverse,
sometimes not.
There is a mini- interview with /essay on the director by SASAKI Atsushi in
English which I quickly translated for the Nippon Cinema Now pamphlet to be
distributed in Toronto and Pusan.
