self introduction

hi there,
my name is Neil, I am a 25 year old film student from england.  I have a keen interest in Japanese film, in particular the work of Takeshi Kitano.  For my degree dissertation I  am looking at Japanese cinema.  I will be using the following films; Sonatine, Rashomon, Onibaba, An Autumn Afternoon and Ai No Borei.  I will be looking at issues relating to honour, duty, life and death and also the influence of zen on Japanese cinema.  I look forward to talking to you and hope we can help each other in increasing our understanding of a wonderful national cinema.
