Kinetophone in Japan

That reference was in DonCrafton's The Talkies, page 57, I think. Seems very
fishy that a Japanese entrepeneur in the 1910s would surprise Edison with a
cash bomb for a turkey like the kinetophone. Edison's faulty memory?

Since nobody answered my query, can I assume that there is no evidence of
any Japanese kinetophone product?

I think the kinetophone recorded on cylinders, and I don't believe that
format was ever produced in Japan, for music or anything. Only disks as far
as I know.
