Eros in Hell

I just know that the book had a very troubled history after a falling 
out between the original French author and publisher.  The publisher 
subsequently contacted a British writer (and me) to help out, which we 
both declined.  (Or rather I didn't bother replying.)  The original 
French author is mentioned in the "thank you" section.  Can I suggest 
Pete Tombs' (Tombes?) "Mondo Macabre" published last year which has 
chapters on various other Asian countries in addition to two on Japan 
and is better researched.
