Another resource not to be overlooked is "Mandarin Films and Popular 
Songs: 40's - 60's", the catalogue to the season of the same name during 
the 1993 Hong Kong International Film Festival.  Some of the material is 
presumably reproduced in chapter two of Stephen Teo's "Hong Kong: The 
Extra Dimension" (BFI, 1993).
