Not to dispute with Professor Man, especially after the nice things he said
about Milestone a few years back, but I do have some inside info I'm sure I
can share with the group.
New Yorker has sworn to me that they will be bringing out our DVD titles this
summer,with Fireworks (Hana-Bi) being one of the first titles -- and I
suspect Maborosi will also come out this year. Beyond that, I don't know
which Japanese titles from their collection they will release on DVD, but I'm
sure it will follow their list of VHS titles pretty closely.
Also, Kino is slowly getting into the DVD market themselves and they have a
few excellent titles as well. And then there's Fox Lorber, though I'm not so
impressed with their masters or their compression.
