After Life (Japanese title: Wonderful Life) is still going strong after
eight weeks at Shibuya's Cinema Rise. Reviews have been positive --
Premiere's panel of editors made it their pick of the month.
Although Maborosi and After Life are his only feature films, he has made
several documentaries for the TV Man Union production house, including
Without Memory, a 1994 TV doc that was the basis for After Life.
Both he and Kawase (now Sento) have signed on to make new films for Sento
Takenori's New Project JcineX slate of films by young Japanese directors.
