"Official" Korean Remakes of Japanese Films

This does not answer Stephen's question, but does anyone know when the 
"practice" of Korean film producers either officially or unofficially 
remaking Japanese films started?  I recall seeing the Korean remake of 
Saito Koichi's 1972 _Yakusoku_, but can anyone think of earlier examples?
