KOBAYASHI : biography, or interviews, for instance, or even some sites on
the web ? In "gaijin" languages, all I could find is Joan Mellen's
interview in her book "Voices from the Japanese Cinema" or C.R.Blouin's
interviews in french. Has anyone heard of something else by chance?

The Kinema Junpo 1996 December Gejun issue, which came out a couple of
months after Kobayashi passed away has a few feature articles on Kobayashi.
The issue also includes Kobayashi quotes from past Kinema Junpo issues.
So, you can refer back to past articles concerning Kobayashi. Also of
particular interest is the 1961 July Jojun issue, which has feature
articles on Kobayashi after the completion of "Ningen No Jooken".
In English, "Kobayashi's Widescreen Aesthetic" by Cynthia Contreras is in
"Cinematic Landscapes" edited by Linda C. Ehrlich and David Desser
(University of Texas Press 1994).
If you are interested in Kobayashi's jidaigeki, then David Desser's article
"Towards a Structural Analysis of the Postwar Samurai Film" in "Reframing
Japanese Cinema"edited by Arthur Nolleti Jr. and David Desser (Indiana
University Press 1992) is very useful.
Audi Bock also has a listing for Kobayashi in "Japanese Film Directors".
Also, most Film encyclopedias in Japanese will have a page or two on
Kobayashi.
