Genji Film

I am a US-based documentary filmmaker working on a project about the history
of The Tale of Genji and its reception, primarily in Japan but also in the
US.  I would be grateful for any information on filmed versions of the Genji
(I am aware of the 1953 live action version and the 1987 Anime).  I am also
looking for perspective on any influence that the Genji may have had over
Japanese cinema in a broader sense.
