There must be oodles.
There's a 1960s version (very Freudian) starring Ichikawa Raizo:  it's in the
Pacific Film Archive.
NHK also did a serialization a couple of years back.  You might be able to find
it in one of the video stores for Asians, usually in or next to an Asian foods
store, as in our area.
I'd be interested in more info on the project:  who's funding, who's on the
research team, etc.
