Interpreter Wanted

This will be my last response on this subject to the list. If anyone wants to discuss this further he or she is welcome to email me privately.

I just wish to say in response to Mr. Clemente's post that, in writing a book of this type, the author has the burden, really, of >all< research costs. I will not bore you with the details, but suffice to say it has, on my projects anyway, run into thousands of dollars. On my last book, I easily spent three times my advance on research alone.

I've now spent more than ten years writing books and magazine articles where, very often, I knowingly spent far more of my own money on research costs than I ever realistically thought I'd ever make on it, ever. However, I simply wanted to write >the best book possible< and, for the sake of the book (if not my finances), it has always been worth it.

Obviously, Mr. Clemente is not familiar with the publishing industry, at least not from the writer's point of view.
