NIPPON CONNECTION - the film festival
presents 13 brand-new films from Japan, including a European, three
German
and six Rhein-Main-Area premieres. We are looking forward to have eight
guests present their film to the audience. Screenings will be in
japanese
with german or english subtitles.
All films deal with Japans young generation in its search for a future.
Without orientation and emotionally disabled they are suspended between
tradition and popluar culture, revolt and conformity.
NIPPON CONNECTION - a festival for your senses. Be ready to experience
many
attractions beside the films. DJ4s Hiro+Hito (Osaka, Hiroshima) and
Shibuyahot and concerts by Eureka!, Nona Reeves and Mama Guitar
guarantee
great parties. Animated videos by japanese artists, a videoprogram
entitled
"The City and Men" and an exhibition of the mangas of Fukuoka (Osaka)
will
be shown. There will be the opportunity to attend a tea-ceremony
combined
with a presentation of Koto and traditional dance, an Aikido perfomance
and
a lecture by a Zen monk. Moreover, a cooking class with consul Mr.
Tanaka
will be offered. Our Nippon Lounge invites you to stop by to rest and
chat
while enjoying Sushi, Noodlesoup and other japanese delicacies.
