village voice poll: great victory for Asian directors?

According to the Village Voice critics, Kore-eda is the 5th best
director of 1999 for After Life, next to Mike Leigh and others.  Taiwan
director Hou Hsiao-hsien is the BEST director of the decade.  Wong
Kar-wai is the fouth, next to Kiarostami and Kieslowski. No Japanese
director listed for the best of the decade, but Hanabi (listed as
Fireworks) is #6 in the best 10 ten films of the decade.
