self introduction

hi!

my name is andy. i am a german student and i study literature, media 
(meaning film and television), sociology and history.

i am writing my final thesis about kitano's hana-bi at the moment and 
therefore i would be much interested in getting some useful hints from 
people, who are more familiar with japanese culture or film (e.g. death in 
kitano films and japanese culture, meaning of angels in japan, etc.)

since there are only three non-japanese publications on kitano - as far as i 
know - it is not that easy to start from the beginning. it would be extremly 
nice when somebody could tell me if he/she knows any essays on kitano.
