ozu on dvd!

The sad part of this story is that Criterion (Home Vision) has the
rights to only 2 Ozu films (Good Morning and Early Summer). Most of
Ozu's films are with New Yorker (who have earned quite a notorious
reputation for never dropping the prices of their videotapes below
rental price or never releasing their films on tape - New Yorker is yet
to release movies like Late Autumn, End of Summer, Early Spring and
Tokyo Twilight on tape). Compounding the problems, is that the negatives
for most Ozu films (Tokyo Story included - just watch the New Yorker
tape made from the best available negative) are in deplorable condition.
Are Martin Scorcese and Wim Wenders listening?
