A very practical question regarding Japanese electricity supplies

Dear Jasper,
When I went to Japan to visit my son a couple of years ago, he was living
in Ikoma, in the prefecture of Nara, and there was an absolutely marvelous
Buddhist temple in Nara, that I would recommend. It is very famous. There
is a statue of a gigantic Buddha. Also there is a deer park there with
miniature deer which are sacred and tame and are fed by the people of the
town. Did you mention Kyoto? That is a most beautiful city. It's the old
capital, and is the site of many beautiful temples which you can visit and
art and the shops are elegant and beautiful. Both Nara and Kyoto are near
Osaka, which is a big city, very modern. When I was there they had an
exhibit of plasticized dead bodies, which I didn't go to, because I didn't
have time, but it was said to have been superb. Osaka is very lively and
there is a lot to do there if you like big cities.
I know there are hostels where one can stay in Japan. I didn't have to
do it, but I'm sure you could get info on them--a little at least--before you
leave.
You are so lucky to be going to Japan. What a great country. I loved it
and long to go back again. Let us know how it goes.
Hugs,
Diane D.
