Filming in Japan

Hello Japan-Film Fans !

I have got a question for the filmers on the KineJapan list.
A friend of me, Emanuel Rund, a quite famous documentation filmer
( Oscar-Nomination; Friedenspreis Berlin ) is planing to make a
documentation in Japan. The cities there will probably be Tokyo, 
Kyoto and / or Sendai. 
A problem is the raising of funds and finding sponsors and equipment
in Japan.
Does anybody know  where organizations or companies in Japan,
which are sponsoring documentations, can be found ?
Or just write some experiences with the matter and problems that could
occur.
