Higuchi Shinji, Kurosawa Akira and TOBU

Does anyone know whatever happened to Higuchi Shinji's 2000 production 
TOBU.  I vaguely remember it being an adaptation of a Kurosawa Akira 
script, perhaps being a short and perhaps using heavy CGI.  Higuchi is 
the SFX guy who most recently worked on SAKUYA and PRINCESS BLADE.  Is 
it completed?  Still in production?  Apart from Koyuki, who else was 
meant to be before the camera?
