>DreamWorks has inked a deal costing a reported $1m (?681,000) to obtain
the distribution and remake rights to cult Japanese horror yarn, Ring. A
breakthrough hit, Hideo Nakata's film tells the story of a mysterious video
cassette that apparently causes death in the viewer a week after watching
it. The film, which was such a hit in Japan that it spawned a sequel,
enjoyed decent reviews and a highly successful limited run on British
screens last autumn.
