American characters in Japanese film...

A few examples spring to mind:
Seijun Suzuki's Gates of Flesh/Nikutai no Mon (1964) is set during the
Allied Occupation and features a host of periphery American GI's.
Tetsuji Takechi's Black Snow / Kuroi Yuki (1965) also shows US GIs in a
none-too-favourable light.
Kinji Fukasaku's Virus/ Fukkatsu no Hi (1980) is an international with an
international cast, but interesting to see a Japanese perspective on the
dynamics of a group of different nationalities holed up in an arctic bunker
facing imminent global destruction together.
Hiroki Ryuichi's recent I Am An SM Writer/ Kisetsu no Futei (1999) has an
American actor, someone called Bryan William Churchill (!) who plays the
love interest, rather more significantly with his body rather than his mind.
And finally, Shunji Iwai's Fried Dragon Fish (1993) has a number of American
characters in international ganster mode.
I'm sure there are plenty more!

Subject: American characters in Japanese film...
Hello everyone-
with the intent of becoming a research paper for a university course I am
currently taking, I would like to do some research of Western (particularly
American) characters appearing in Japanese films.
I am currently residing in Japan, so I should be able to find almost
anything on video... does anyone have any suggestions? basically any
Japanese production with Western characters involved, or possibly a Japanese
production where Japanese characters are placed in a western setting, etc.
The general idea of the paper is to get an idea of how Western (esp.
American) charaters are represented in Japanese cinema. Of course, if a
particular director has multiple films of this type, that would let me focus
the paper even more, which would be nice. Or perhaps a specific actor who
often portrays foreign characters in Japanese film, etc.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, please either reply to the list (if
anyone else is interested) or to me directly at:

thanks in advance,
