Well, I don't want to get into a debate over Battle Royale--no time!--but
I don't think it was as bad as all that. A shadow of what Fukasaku could
do 25 years ago, but still packing a few good barbs in Fukasaku's
continued defense of anarchy against postwar Japan's vision of order and
authority. Takeshi helped a lot too. And even my wife didn't think it
was that bad.
Did write on it for the Yomiuri, but the review's not in this computer.
