POSITION IN POST-MODERN THEORY/ RECENT LITERATURE/        
             THEATER or FILM STUDIES

The Graduate School for International Languages and Cultures at Nagoya 
University (Nagoya, Japan) invites applications for a full-time position 
in one of the following fields of specialization: post-modern theory; 
recent literature; theater or film studies; advanced studies in other 
areas of the modern arts. Additionally, this position will involve 
teaching responsibilities in English language education.

1. Position rank: Associate professor (jo-kyoju)

2. Number of positions being offered: One

3. Lecture areas: English language; specialized subject area in Section 
for Modern Cultural Studies, Graduate for International Languages and 
Cultures

4. Department affiliation: International Languages and Cultures (Nagoya 
Daigaku Gengo Bunkabu)

5. Appointment Commences On: October 1, 2001

6. Degree Requirements: Ph.D. or its equivalent in terms of research 
achievement

7. Age Requirement:  Applicants under the age of 38 shall be preferred

8. Other Qualifications: Non-Japanese native speakers of English are 
invited to apply. HOWEVER, sufficient proficiency in Japanese to carry 
out 
administrative functions as a full-fledged member of the faculty is 
required

9. Documents Necessary for Application: Proof of Degree; Curriculum Vitae 
(with photograph affixed. Resume may be submitted in English); List of 
Publications (books and academic articles); Full copies of each of three 
academic articles (at least one article should be in English); One 
full-page summary for each article submitted
