Kirsten,

EUREKA just opened in the US, and has been widely reviewed.  For the
purposes of your thesis, the May/June issue of Film Comment has a larger,
more academic, piece written by Tony Pipolo on the film.  BROTHER will be
released in the US later this summer, but has already been written about in
a few places.

Welcome to the list.
Eureke is currently playing theatrically in Amsterdam, with Brother out over
here within the next month. No doubt video/dvd releases will follow within
the next 6 months.
If you are interested in English language reviews/information on these and
plenty of other Japanese films, can I suggest Midnight Eye - one of the few
internet resources for modern Japanese cinema.
