Hello!

The director of the new Ghibli movie is Hiroyuki MORITA. To quote
http://nausicaa.net : In 1999, Morita directed Tenchi Muyou! 2: Haruka naru
Omoi. He also worked as a Key Animator on My Neighbors the Yamadas and an
In-Between Animator on Kiki's Delivery Service.

Nausicaa.net already has a page about the movie although there isn't much
there yet (http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/neko/). They do have links to
different formats of the trailer and under "availability" a little bit of
information about the manga. It's probably the best place to keep updated
about anything that happens with Ghibli movies.
