I don't know if transfer is better but this movie does exist on tape (Wise)
according to Pia Cinema Club. May be it can be found in some Tsutaya.

Does anyone know what apsect ratio this should be? Was it shot on 16mm or
35mm? I tried watching Uplink's DVD yesterday but it looked just awful,
cropped to fullscreen (from 2.35:1?) and very smeary? Are there no prints of
this around to have made a better transfer?
