Just a note on Japanese film in Portugal:

This year's Doc's Kingdom, a yearly seminar on problems in documentary 
held in Serpa between September 17 and 22., will have a particular focus 
on Japanese cinema. Jose Manuel Costa of the Portuguese Cinematheque will 
be helping organize it.

A kind of preliminary version of that event was held at Yamagata last 
fall, so those interested might want check out the Doc Box article on the
