Peter forwarded this information to me:

PBS has created a new
website in connection with the national broadcast next week of the new
documentary "KUROSAWA," produced for PBS' Great Performances series. The
site has LOTS of interesting and useful information about Kurosawa Akira,
of
course, but also about many related subjects from Japanese history,
Japanese
film history, actors, performers, technical crew, etc.; also many
Kurosawa-related links and information about local broadcast schedules.
In
the PBS universe, broadcast schedules are determined by local PBS
stations,
so viewers need always to check local listings.
Interested viewers should visit the Kurosawa website at
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/gperf/shows/kurosawa/kurosawa.html

(This website has been substantially upgraded and amplified since it first
went online several weeks ago.)

At this site, one can also view short clips from the documentary and
excerpts from interviews with members of the "Kurosawa-gumi" (Kurosawa
crew)
that were not included in the finished film.

"KUROSAWA," the complete documentary (1'55"), will be released on DVD in
late April. The DVD will contain several hours of additional interviews,
edited from outtakes, and should become a useful resource for teaching
about
Kurosawa and Japanese film history.
